    • When: Goosetown makes deliveries from 3-4 PM on Tuesdays.

    • Description: The Goosetown Pantry is a vital ministry that provides essential support to families in need. Every Tuesday, volunteers come together in the kitchen and Parish Hall to organize and distribute food to local families. This initiative has a rich history of community service, offering a helping hand to those facing food insecurity. Get involved by volunteering and making a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

    • When: Every second Monday for lunch, time TBD monthly

    • Description: The Free Lunch Program, coordinated by Steve Panther, serves as a beacon of generosity in our community. Taking place every second Monday at 1105 Gilbert St., Iowa City, this program provides nourishing meals to families in need. Explore opportunities to volunteer and contribute to this initiative that has become a cornerstone of support for many in our community.

    • Description: Zion members sign up to provide individuals or families with home-cooked meals or food to help them get through illness, surgery, bereavement, or the birth of a child.

  • The Alternative Christmas Market offers a unique way to celebrate the holiday season by supporting meaningful causes. Instead of traditional gifts, explore a variety of charitable options where your contribution makes a positive impact. Join this initiative to make your holiday giving more purposeful and compassionate.

    • When: Sunday, December 7, 2025 @ 9:00 AM

  • The Prayer Shawl Team is a dedicated group that creates comforting shawls infused with prayers and positive intentions. These shawls are then shared with individuals facing illness, grief, or life's challenges. Join this team to contribute your craft and compassion to bring solace and warmth to others.

  • Quilters meet every Wednesday morning from 9:30 - 12-00.
    We would love to have more members.  All you need to know is how to tie.  We can teach you that and more. 

    Want to put a top together at home? We have quilt strips in a bag at the Welcome Center.  Directions for making a quilt are in the bag.  If you don’t see one on top of the Welcome Center there are more inside of it.

    Donations can be dropped off in the office or in the quilting room at the bottom of the stairs.  We want to thank everyone for supporting Zion’s mission through donations and your Thrivent cards.

  • The Layette Ministry is a heartwarming initiative focused on providing essential items for newborns and their families. Volunteers come together to assemble layettes, ensuring that each newborn receives a warm welcome into the world. Join this ministry to contribute to the joyous beginnings of new families.
