What’s Happening 5.22.2025
We are once again trying to schedule a time, or perhaps two, to offer the training for leadership called, “Best Practices for working with Volunteers”. As I shared a while back, it is for all committees, their volunteers and chairs, as well as council leadership.
The purpose of this workshop is to assist us, as a congregation in utilizing our volunteers in the best ways possible. Time is almost more valuable than money in the world of non-profits today. There are so many other opportunities for people of all ages to volunteer in our communities, we can’t just assume people are going to volunteer to cover all our needs. You probably know, as well as I do, that when you do volunteer for something, you don’t want to feel like your time was wasted. We will cover why it is important to be clear about expectations, what they are committing to, how much time, what supplies are needed, and where they can be found.
When we have committee meetings, we want to include everyone in the discussion and encourage everyone to share in the responsibilities. We also need to have a way to track how things were done in the past and to start planning for the next time an event occurs.
Currently, we are surveying to see which Sundays in late June and July the greatest number of people are available to attend. We will may offer the workshop twice if that will make it possible for people to participate in the training.
Please take a few short minutes to fill out this survey so that we can set a date (or two) and get started in the planning.
